Every single day holds something new and interesting. I'm looking forward to a great school year! View my complete profile. A singular noun names just one person, place, or thing. A plural noun name more than one person, place, or thing. There are several different ways to make plural nouns which we will also be learning this week.

Welcome Third Grade Parents and Students!

Some nouns can be made plural by adding an "s"--like dogs, girls, schools. But if a noun ends with s, ss, ch, sh, or x, we have to add "es"--like matches, buses, classes, bushes, boxes. We also have special rules for nouns that end with "y". Lastly, there are some irregular plural nouns.
