Klemet preus biography of rory

The Fire and the Staff by Klemet I. This book, while rather large pages , is very enjoyable and easy to read. The language used is very clear and understandable. The theme of the book is that doctrine and practice have a reciprocal relationship. If you change one, you will change the other. Understanding the linkage between doctrine and practice is critical today as the American Evangelical and Church Growth Movements are challenging us to change our practices.

In addition to explaining the unchangeable basis of our doctrine and practices in Scripture and the Confessions, Pastor Preus exposes the errors in the teachings of the American Evangelical and Church Growth Movements.

Klemet was born June 13, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Robert D. and Donna Mae (Rockman) Preus.

This is a book that can and should be read and re-read. Even the footnotes are interesting to read. The book is an excellent document for use in a study group. Included at the end of each chapter are Study Questions and Discussion Questions.
